Peer Review Process

JOS receives more submissions than it can publish. Therefore, we ask peer-reviewers to keep in mind that every paper that is accepted means that another good paper must be rejected. To be published in JOS, a paper should meet four general criteria: Evidence, Novel, Necessity, and Interesting.

In general, a paper should represent an advance to influence thinking in the field to be acceptable. There should be a discernible reason why the work deserves the visibility of publication in this journal rather than the best of the specialist journals.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
