Characterization of Damage in Carbon Composites Subjected to Fatigue Loading
Abstract- In this paper carbon composite samples have been subjected to fatigue loading, after being strained in tensile machines. Different ranges of tensile stresses were used, and fatigue cycles was recorded for samples subjected to a certain percentage of their tensile strength. The results provided fruit full information about the fatigue life of carbon composites used in aerospace. Two samples were then used to detect damage using C scanning and account for the damage. Effect of length was also measured on the fatigue cycles by putting two samples different in length and allowing samples to fail under fatigue
